Mini NARS Haul

About a week ago I received my NARS order in the mail but I was sooo into MAC's Venomous Villians release that I didn't really get to focus on my NARS purchase. The purchase includes 3 single eyeshadows, an eyeshadow duo and a blush.....

NARS Single Eyeshadows
From left to right: Night Porter, Night Flight and California.

Commentary: I am in love with my entire purchase with the exception of California. I like it but I don't love it. It was broken when it arrived and that kind of upset me. There isn't a store I can return it to and it would take some time for me to send it back, I'd have to wait for NARS to receive it and then I'd have to wait for NARS to re-issue another one. I wouldn't mind going through that for an exchange but NARS doesn't have an exchange policy. They only do returns so I decided to keep it and make the best of it. ;)

Hope you guys enjoy!!!

Venomous Villians Mini-Haul

When you tell someone "Hey I went to the Venomous Villians unveiling.", their first question is:  "What did you buy?!?!?!?!" So here is my mini haul from the collection. I also picked up a few products that weren't included in the collection but they were on my "To get list".

From left to right: Violetta l/s, Sinister l/s, De-Vil e/s, Vainglorious e/s, Melon pigment, Revenge is Sweet l/g, and Wrong Spell l/g.
Now I know I did swatches of virtually everything at the unveiling and it is in the previous post, I figured "WTH i might as well include them in here as well". So here is the swatches for these products:

From left to right: Melon pigment, Vainglorious e/s and
De-Vil e/s.

From left to right: Sinister l/s, Violetta l/s, Revenge is Sweet l/g and Wrong Spell l/g.
Here is my non- VV collection purchase for that evening.....

From left to right: Cyber  l/s, Coppering e/s, Blacktrack Fluidline, and Diva l/s.
And here are the lipstick swatches:

From left to right: (excuse my cat Lady in the background) Diva l/s, and Cyber l/s.
I didn't swatch the fluidline but I'm sure we all know how great it is! I absolutely LOVE it! I don't know why but for a long time I was trying to stay away from gel liners. I broke down and sampled a few from ELF (http://www.eyeslipsface.com/) for $3.00 a piece. They were ok but I purchased the MAC Fluidline that night with the intent to do a look for one of my "Girls Night" outings.

I'm sure you may have heard, De-Vil and Coppering.....= Dupes! See swatches below.

From left to right: NARS California, MAC De-Vil, and MAC Coppering.

Thanks for reading !!!!!!

MAC Venomous Villians Unveiling NYC Soho Location 9/21/2010 (Swatches Included)

On Tuesday September 21, 2010, my co-worker and I went to the unveiling of the  Venomous Villians collection at one of the MAC stores here in NYC. We arrived at about 6:30p.m. and there was already a little line formed. While on line a security guard came around and checked id's and stamped our hands.

My MAC stamp!

Me waiting online :)

Once inside we had to give our names to the individual with the guest list. Then we were given a cheat sheet to mark down what we want as we see it. I was going to upload it for you guys but mine is all messed up. Temptalia did upload one on her site though if your interested in taking a look. (http://www.temptalia.com/).

They had refreshments which consisted of filet migeon, Swedish meatballs and some mini cupcakes. They also served a very good alcoholic beverage! It was pink and had a minty flavor thanks to the mint leaf that was inside. I'm sure you'll see  one of my cups somewhere in the background of the swatch pics...

After we picked up a drink we made our way to the back of the store; The front display was already crowded. I tried my best to get swatches of EVERY product. It wasn't easy but i was able to get most of the products! (Aside from the nail polishes, I still have a week to go with my design so i didn't want to mess it up...) As you may know this collection is broken up into four parts by character. The characters are Dr. Facilier (Princess and the Frog), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), Evil Queen (Snow White) and Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmatians). You can find swatches below in that order.

Overall, I enjoyed myself that evening. It was my first time attending an unveiling and I'm sure it wont be my last. Aside from a few MAC artists who seemed as if they didn't want to be at work, it was a friendly environment. There wasn't any pushing or carrying on. Everyone waited there turn to view the displays and get their time with an artist to do either a lip look or an eye look. I had the pleasure of bumping into Kim Porter, who is a known beauty blogger (www.makeupbykim-porter.com/blog).

They also had Cruella and Evil Queen costumes for us to try on. You can find my hideous Evil Queen imitation below. I snagged a few products which will be photoed in a separate haul post! Thanks for reading xoxoxo!
